About us

The PhD Program Defence and Homeland Security is designed to provide doctoral students with training complementary to their doctoral thesis project, opening the door to careers at the highest level in defence and security companies, in the forces, and in national and international organisations.

The programme is built on a solid base of professional and scientific training delivered by experts in the field working at Aix-Marseille University or with the programme's partners. Immersion activities in operational services and site visits are also offered.

Doctoral students regularly enrolled in one of the 12 doctoral schools of Aix Marseille University covering all disciplinary fields must have obtained a funding dedicated to their PhD or be enrolled in continuing education or validation of acquired experience (VAE).

They take part in the PhD Program's training courses, which include compulsory courses and others of their choice. The volume of hours followed by PhD students in the PhD Program must be more than 100 hours spread over the 3 years of the PhD.
